Hi everyone… It’s me again. 🙂

From the confines of my home. As I sit here ready to start the day for a team call to sync on remaining items for another content release in the next day or so, I look out the door and see my 8 year old sitting at the table doing his Math from home, and my 11 year old avoiding doing any school work she can, cause she just wants to see her friends. I’m reminded, daily of how life has changed in such a short time, and it definitely puts things into a different perspective.

I am also constantly reminded about how passionate people are with our game. I don’t take offense to criticism, as in all honestly, it is warranted some of the times. Working at Playful has been an honor for me, as I have been surrounded by people that truly care about making great entertainment FIRST. I used to work at other studios that was about money first and game second. That is not the case here. Perhaps in some ways that has lead to doing things that may not be the best financially, but it has ALWAYS come from the heart of trying to do the best we can to being joy to people.

I have been in the gaming industry for a long time. I have seen A LOT of things for sure…. I love it. It’s my passion. It’s a passion for my team members as well and a blessing to work along side of them. I know some of our implementations of features and content may not have been the best, but it does always come from good intention and a good place. As the game’s producer, I juggle many things. That’s my job. The 2 most important things are ensuring that we are bringing quality and joy to the players, and ensuring that I can pay my team to keep them employed for them and their family. It’s always a balance and a struggle and NEVER is there a RIGHT way. It’s all subjective.

I will say this. We listen, we adjust, we try again. Eventually we will get it mostly right. Maybe. All I can hope is that we stay true to who we are and our community stays true to themselves. A Community that is open, accepting, patient, passionate and understanding. I will never want to silence criticisms. That’s frankly how we get better. But a criticism never has to be about the people or their intent. I feel its too easy to make assumptions and attack people personally, and it has almost become a norm these days. I try and reject that as I never feel its constructive, and frankly, if we haven’t learned this yet with the situation these day, well, we are all in this thing together. So what I ask of this wonderful community is to always be open and constructive. Always question. And most importantly, always assume good intentions first.

I am hoping you will all stay along with me for this journey. I love working on this game, and I love working with you all. In a time of uncertainty and chaos… you bring me joy. My commitment to you, is that we will always do what we can to do the same for you.
